Close your eyes and imagine the perfect Christmas card. Did you envision white sparkling snow? A beautiful family of redheads and their two snow husky pups? Ok, open your eyes. Ta-da! Here are those perfect Christmas card photos you imagined.
I know, I know... I'm a bit cheesy and strange. Let's be honest, normal is SO boring! When you book a photography session with me, know you're not getting a boring photographer. I have the worst (and best) jokes in my arsenal. They might be terrible jokes but they'll still get you to smile or at the very least sigh and roll your eyes.
About the session-
As a family photographer, I typically do 90% of my work during Spring through Fall. However, that small 10% of sessions that happen during the cold winter months turn out to be absolutely magical. We waited and waited for Mother Nature to gift us with a fresh blanket of snow. Finally on Christmas Adam (yes, the day before Christmas Eve and wuite possibly my favorite Christmas joke...) the weather cooperated and dumped 2 feet of snow for us to play with.
This is good advice for anyone who wants a specific look for their photos. That could mean Spring blossoms, mountain wildflowers or even fresh fallen snow. When you want something so specific, you'll need to be patient and super flexible with your schedule. I do absolutely everything in my power to accommodate all of my clients wants and wishes.
Don't you wish you could just hug and love on these fluffy puppies? They were in doggie heaven prancing around in the powdery snow.
About the location-
Photographing families in Mueller Park Canyon is one of my favorites. It offers mountain and canyon vibes without having to travel too far up into the mountains. There is a small parking lot at the very beginning of the canyon and you can easily walk in. During the winter months, that is as far as you are able to park. Walking up is your only option. During Spring-Fall months, you can pay to drive and park further into the canyon. There are many trails, bridges, fields and areas for the perfect photo. Not coming up for photos, you can have a picnic or dip your toes into the cold stream. Dogs are obviously allowed (not all Utah canyons allow animals due to the water shed). If you're thinking about including your pup in your next family photo, this is a great option that is super dog friendly.
